Ideas of Project 1

At first, Erin raised the idea of making music by typing words, which gave me the idea that we could try type a poem and generate music at the same time.

- “Words can also have sounds, they can be more dimensional.”

e.g. broken, dreams, surprise, choose the words give people pictures in their mind - need to preset the music

prepare word cards to let participants to make their own poems.

CONs: the sounds are designed by us, might have bias.

Then, an idea just popped up, we could use morse code to do something.

we did a research, morse codes consist of two elements, which are dot and dash.

we decided to use the morse code system, like A is one dot and one dash, this combination can have one note. B is dash, dot, dot, dot, maybe dash + dot can have one certain note...we need to figure out the rules for the sounds.

someone want to type in SAD, when they press "S" first, the screen will show them "S" and speaker will play the morse code beat, then press "A" , the screen will show them "A" and speaker will play the morse code beat. Press "D" , the screen will show them "D" and speaker will play the morse code beat. Then, press "ENTER", a sound will be generated.

What we need to work on:

circuit diagram + code

Required hardware:

Buttons, speakers, screen.

LAB

At first, it did not work, then I found out i did not connect the "+" and "-"...

Then it worked, but cannot hear it clearly, so I try to use the transistor to make the sound louder, but didn’t work, the loudness is still the same?

only when i applied pressure on the second FSR, it worked, when I did the same to first and third ones, there weren’t any sounds?
